Dinh Bac: 'Vietnam Team Determined to Beat Singapore to Build Momentum for Indonesia Match'

Striker Nguyen Dinh Bac stated that the Vietnam team has undergone careful preparation and set the goal of taking full points from Singapore to create a mental edge ahead of their trip to Indonesia's home ground four days later, within the framework of the Asean Hyundai Cup 2026.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, the forward from Nghe An province revealed that the entire squad has had a week of serious training in preparation for the clash with Singapore.

"The match between Vietnam and Singapore will be an exciting game. We are working very hard to prepare for this encounter. Vietnam needs a victory to build momentum for the next away match against Indonesia.

The Vietnam team has spent a week preparing for the game against Singapore. Through training sessions and team meetings, everyone has been working diligently," Dinh Bac shared.

The 2004-born forward also emphasized that team spirit is the most important factor, rather than any individual brilliance. When asked about playing alongside Nguyen Xuan Son, Do Hoang Hien, and his own high form after scoring a hat-trick against Timor Leste, Dinh Bac stated:

"Football is a team sport. The combination between me and anyone else is not important. What matters is the coordination of the entire team. Collective strength is the greatest strength. No matter who scores, I will be very happy. Vietnam will fight for the flag and colors, and we are ready for the match against Singapore.

Personally, I am ready for the match. After scoring a hat-trick in the previous game against Timor Leste, there are high expectations from everyone. But for me, the most important goal is for Vietnam to win. The whole team is fully focused on this task."

In the opening match of the AFF Hyundai Cup 2026, Vietnam recorded a resounding 7-0 victory over Timor Leste. Dinh Bac was the standout star with a hat-trick, while Do Hoang Hien scored a brace. The other two goals were netted by Nguyen Quang Hai and Nguyen Xuan Son.

With an impressive performance in the opening match, Dinh Bac is expected to maintain his high form. However, the 22-year-old forward affirmed that his biggest goal remains helping Vietnam defeat Singapore to continue their title defense and create favorable momentum for the challenging away trip to Indonesia.
