The Vietnamese squad has landed in Indonesia to get ready for their clash with the hosts in the third matchday of Group A at the 2026 ASEAN Championship (AFF Cup).
Flight VJ929 carrying the Vietnam team departed from Noi Bai Airport and landed at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Jakarta) at around 1:00 PM local time.
The match between Indonesia and Vietnam will take place on August 3rd at Pakansari Stadium (Bogor), as part of the third round of Group A of the 2026 ASEAN Championship.
The VFF stated that the tight schedule of matches and travel means the Vietnam team will only have one training session in Bogor to prepare for the crucial encounter with the hosts.
Meanwhile, according to Indonesian media, on the morning of August 1st, the Vietnam team departed for Indonesia to prepare for the third match of Group A in the 2026 ASEAN Championship. The whole team took off on a flight at 8:40 AM and was expected to arrive in Jakarta at 1:00 PM before continuing by bus to Bogor, where the match against hosts Indonesia will take place.\
The dense schedule and travel distance mean that coach Kim Sang-sik's team only has one training session in Bogor before entering the important match.
While the Vietnam team traveled from Hanoi, the hosts Indonesia also returned from Chonburi (Thailand) after a 3-0 victory over Timor Leste.
Both Vietnam and Indonesia have only two days of rest before the clash. In the most recent matchday on July 31, Vietnam drew 0-0 with Singapore at My Dinh Stadium, while Indonesia defeated Timor Leste 3-0 at the Chonburi stadium in Thailand.
The Vietnam team will stay at the five-star Harris Hotel & Convention Cibinong City Mall in Bogor. Due to constant travel, the team will rest today and will only have one pitch familiarization session tomorrow before playing on August 3rd.
