Overseas Vietnamese defender Lenn Minh Tran has joined Ho Chi Minh City Police FC.

The club has just confirmed the contract with Vietnamese-born defender Lenn Minh Tran to bolster their roster for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign.

Born in 2007, Lenn Minh Tran has a Vietnamese father and a Belgian mother. The defender came through the academy of Genk, one of Belgium's most famous youth development systems, before moving to play for MVV Maastricht in the Dutch Eerste Divisie.

Lenn Minh Tran's main position is right-back, but the 19-year-old can also perform well on the left flank. His strengths include speed, a solid technical foundation from systematic training, attacking support ability, and modern tactical thinking.

In the 2025/26 season, Lenn-Minh Tran made 32 appearances for MVV Maastricht in the Eerste Divisie, thereby gaining more professional experience in European football.

Previously, the defender of Vietnamese-Belgian descent also represented Belgium's youth national teams. With his development potential and systematic training background, Lenn Minh Tran is considered one of the most notable overseas Vietnamese players born in 2007.

As for Ho Chi Minh City Police FC, the club expects that Lenn Minh Tran's presence will increase competition on both flanks thanks to his ability to transition smoothly between attack and defense.

This move also demonstrates that the club continues to pursue a strategy of adding quality young players, especially overseas Vietnamese talents trained in Europe, to enhance squad depth for the upcoming season's objectives.

With the arrival of Lenn Minh Tran, Ho Chi Minh City Police FC now has four overseas Vietnamese players in its squad.

Goalkeeper Lê Giang Patrik (Slovakia) and midfielder Ngô Đăng Khoa (Khoa Ngô, Australia) have already obtained Vietnamese citizenship. Forward Williams Lee (England) and Lenn Minh Tran are currently in the process of applying for citizenship.
