Indonesian players are highly determined to face the Vietnam national team.

The Indonesian squad is demonstrating immense resolve before the key encounter with Vietnam at the 2026 Asean Cup.

Indonesia enters the match against Vietnam with impressive form. The team from the archipelago has won both of its first two matches in Group A of the 2026 AFF Cup, thereby maintaining a strong chance of securing a semifinal spot.

After defeating Cambodia 5-1 in their opening match, Indonesia continued to claim all three points with a 3-0 victory over Timor Leste.

The next match will be a crucial test for Garuda. Indonesia will host Vietnam at Pakansari Stadium (Bogor) on Monday (August 3, 2026). A victory would open the door wide to the semifinals for the hosts, even though they still have a final group stage match against Singapore.

Ahead of the clash with Vietnam, many Indonesian players have expressed their confidence.

Left-back Shayne Pattynama is one of those showing high determination after scoring the opening goal in the win over Timor Leste. His 74th-minute strike kicked off Indonesia's 3-0 victory.

"I am very happy to have scored a goal. But more importantly, we have gained another victory for the team," Shayne Pattynama wrote on his personal Instagram account.

Veteran center-back Jordi Amat also expressed pride after contributing to Indonesia's clean sheet. In the match against Timor Leste, Jordi had to work hard several times to neutralize the opponent's counterattacks.

According to him, securing six points from two matches without conceding a single goal is valuable preparation for the showdown with Vietnam.

"6 points, no goals conceded. Keep moving forward!" Jordi Amat shared on his personal Instagram.

Eliano Reijnders also showed similar optimism. The Indonesian winger believes that two consecutive wins are ideal preparation for the encounter with Vietnam, a match expected to be very tense.

"Two wins in two matches. On Monday, we will keep fighting," Eliano Reijnders wrote.

Meanwhile, Marc Klok emphasized that Indonesia needs to maintain the fighting spirit shown in the first two matches.

According to the midfielder, the victory over Timor Leste is proof that Indonesia can maintain focus until the final whistle.

"Let's keep fighting until the last minute. I am proud of the team's efforts and another victory. Thank you everyone for always supporting us. A big task awaits on Monday," Marc Klok shared.
