Patrik Lê Giang stated that representing Vietnam is the pinnacle of his career's honors, and stressed that the team will not concentrate too much on any single Indonesian player but rather rely on teamwork in the crucial Group A clash of the 2026 ASEAN Hyundai Cup.
Speaking at the press conference before the match against Indonesia, goalkeeper Patrik Lê Giang said he always maintains the highest concentration whenever he is given the opportunity to play for the Vietnam national team.
"For me, every match in the national team jersey is a big match. Representing the country is the highest honor for a player. I don't differentiate the importance of matches; I always enter each game with the utmost focus."
Assessing the opponent, Patrik Lê Giang acknowledged that Indonesia has many quality players and will be a significant challenge for Vietnam at Pakansari Stadium.

Nevertheless, the Vietnam goalkeeper affirmed that his personal goal remains to give his all to bring joy to the fans.
"Indonesia is a strong opponent with many quality players, but my goal is always to give my best, bring joy to the fans, and contribute to making the country proud."
When asked whether Vietnam will pay special attention to any individual from Indonesia, Patrik Lê Giang said the whole team believes in collective strength.
"The coach has already answered very thoroughly. We are not focusing too much on any individual opponent, but rather on facing Indonesia with the strength of the whole team."
The head-to-head record favors Indonesia, with 11 wins, 11 draws, and 9 losses. In the last five matches, Vietnam won two and drew three. The results are: a 2-0 win in the second leg of the AFF Cup 2022 semifinal, a 0-1 loss in the Asian Cup 2023 group stage, 0-1 and 0-3 losses in the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Asia, and a 1-0 win in the ASEAN Cup 2024 group stage.
The match between Indonesia and Vietnam will take place at Pakansari Stadium and is considered a crucial showdown in the race for a semifinal spot in the 2026 ASEAN Hyundai Cup.
