Madam Pang announces a bonus of nearly 2 billion for the Thai national team if they top the group.

The FAT President Nualphan Lamsam, popularly known as Madam Pang, has announced a reward of 2 million baht (approximately 1.6 billion VND) for the Thai team if they top Group B and advance to the ASEAN Cup 2026 semifinals.

Madam Pang made this announcement after the "War Elephants" had a favorable start with two consecutive wins. The Thai team defeated Laos 5-0 away and then beat Malaysia 2-0 at Rajamangala Stadium in front of about 16,000 spectators. With a perfect 6 points, a goal difference of +7, and no goals conceded, coach Anthony Hudson's side holds a significant advantage in the race to top Group B.

Speaking to Thai media, Madam Pang praised the young players, saying they had shown fighting spirit, dedication, and a desire to prove themselves. She specifically mentioned striker Yotsakorn Burapha, who confidently converted a penalty in the win over Malaysia, as well as Teerasak Poeiphimai, who scored in both of the first two matches of the tournament.

Besides the young talents, the FAT President also highlighted the role of experienced players like Sarach Yooyen, Kamphon Pathamarakkul, and Manuel Tom Bierh in maintaining balance in the squad. According to Madam Pang, the combination of youth and experience was key to Thailand securing a full 6 points after two matches, keeping clean sheets, and gaining a big advantage in the fight for a semifinal spot.

Before the team departed for the Philippines to prepare for the next match, Madam Pang directly encouraged the players and promised a bonus of 2 million baht if the team finishes the group stage in first place. She also called on fans to continue supporting the "War Elephants," emphasizing that away matches always pose difficulties, but she believes the team is capable of achieving their goal.

According to the schedule, Thailand will face the Philippines in the third match of Group B of the 2026 ASEAN Cup at 8:00 PM on August 4 (Thai time) at New Clark City Athletic Stadium in Capas. This is considered a crucial match in the "War Elephants'" race for the top spot in the group.
