A star has caused an unexpected shift in Liverpool's transfer strategy.

According to sources, Federico Chiesa has chosen to stay at Liverpool and vie for a spot under Andoni Iraola, surprising those who expected him to leave.

Federico Chiesa's future at Anfield has taken a significant turn. Italian outlets report that the 28-year-old forward is no longer actively seeking a move and is prepared to remain fight for a place in Liverpool's lineup during the 2026/27 campaign.

Earlier, Chiesa had been linked to a number of Serie A teams and Atletico Madrid. His limited starting roles under Arne Slot fueled rumors of a Liverpool exit throughout much of the summer.

Nevertheless, the pre-season tour in the United States combined with the appointment of manager Andoni Iraola, has altered the landscape. Chiesa aims to leverage the renewed competition to showcase his abilities and earn a bigger role at Anfield.
