Both head coach Anthony Hudson and goalkeeper Kampol Pathom-attakul have acknowledged the power of the Philippines side before their match in Group B of the ASEAN Cup 2026.
In the pre-match press conference, coach Anthony Hudson shared: "First of all, we have great respect for the Philippines because they are a very dangerous opponent with a talented coach whom I have had the opportunity to work with and know before.
Clearly, the Philippines is a strong team and very difficult to face. However, we are also in a good state ourselves. The whole team is determined and aims to deliver a quality performance.

Regarding the head-to-head record with the Philippines, I believe that past results will not affect this match. The coaching staff has worked thoroughly, analyzing each Philippines player as well as their recent games. It must be admitted that the Philippines has a rather complex style of play and is capable of causing many difficulties for us. I expect the Thai national team to continue showing strong form in this match.
I am very pleased that the players can replace each other in every position. From the first day until now, that has really impressed me. Both experienced players and young faces have shown clear progress. I have great confidence in the current squad and will continue to develop further with the players. The important thing now is to focus on each match."
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Kampol Pathom-attakul said: "Everyone knows that the weather in the Philippines is often rainy and a bit different from Thailand, but that is not an excuse for the Thai national team. We have prepared very well for this match. Everyone is trying to maintain the best physical condition. Whoever gets the chance to play will strive to improve the quality of performance based on what the whole team has shown in previous matches.

The whole team always tries to execute the coach's tactics in every match. Keeping clean sheets and winning both recent matches is the effort of all teammates, because we controlled the ball well and minimized the opponent's counterattack opportunities. I thank my teammates, the coaching staff, and the tactical system that helped the team coordinate effectively in both defense and attack.
We always respect every opponent, including the Philippines in this match. The tournament is still long and the whole team will give their best in every game. I myself will also try to complete my tasks well. At the moment, we are not thinking about qualifying but only focusing on each match. Physical fitness is also an important factor because this is still the pre-season period before the Thai League starts.
For now, we want to achieve the best results in the group stage. After the last two matches, the whole team has made progress in both fitness and tactics. The match against the Philippines tomorrow will be another challenge, as they have caused difficulties for many teams. As Coach Hudson said, we will continue to build on and improve what we have done in the previous two matches. Thank you for the expectation that Thailand will advance to the next round. That is also our goal, and tomorrow's result will have to wait and see what happens."
