Over 1,000 police officers are deployed for the Indonesia vs Vietnam match in the 2026 ASEAN Cup.

Authorities in Indonesia predict that around 27,000 fans will be present at the stadium to watch the clash between Indonesia and Vietnam in the 2026 ASEAN Cup, scheduled for 8:30 PM this evening (August 3) at Pakansari Stadium, located in Cibinong, Bogor Regency, West Java.

The head of the Bogor Regency Police, AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto, stated that the expected audience size is significantly larger than last week's match between Indonesia and Cambodia. At that time, about 18,000 tickets were sold, but the actual number of attendees reached around 20,000.

"This week, our colleagues from PSSI have confirmed that the seating capacity used for the match is 27,000, and it is highly likely to be completely filled," Mr. Wikha said after inspecting security arrangements at Pakansari Stadium today.

According to Mr. Wikha, the increase in spectators has forced authorities to tighten security measures and add more parking lots around the stadium to reduce traffic congestion.

"We have increased the number of parking areas and also arranged additional security checkpoints that have been prepared in advance," Mr. Wikha said.

Meanwhile, the head of the West Java Regional Police Operations Bureau, Colonel Teddy Suhendyawan Syarif, stated that 1,102 personnel from the Indonesian National Police, the Indonesian Military (TNI), the Bogor Regency Government, and related agencies have been mobilized to ensure security for the match.

This figure is more than 100 people higher than the force deployed for last week's Indonesia vs Cambodia match.

"Due to the immense interest from fans, we clearly had to increase our forces. A total of 1,102 personnel have been deployed to protect the match between Indonesia and Vietnam," Mr. Teddy said.

He also explained that all personnel took part in the security plan deployment and tactical drills to ensure each officer and soldier fully understood their duties.

Additionally, the police coordinated with the Bogor Regency Transportation Office to implement traffic diversion plans aimed at reducing congestion on the roads leading to Pakansari Stadium.

Security efforts also include protecting the travel routes of VIP and VVIP guests who may attend, as well as ensuring the safety of Vietnamese fans coming to the stadium to watch the match.
