In just five words, Arsenal's new signing makes a bold statement marking his return to the Premier League

Having endured a forgettable stint at Norwich, Christos Tzolis returns to the Premier League in an Arsenal shirt with a completely different look and a confident declaration about the time to prove himself.

Christos Tzolis didn't take long to make an impression after joining Arsenal for a fee of £34 million from Club Brugge. Within his first week at the London club's training center, the Greek winger topped a series of pre-season fitness tests.

His strong performance led Arsenal's fitness experts to nickname Tzolis 'Leonidas', inspired by the Spartan king known for his bravery, strength, and fighting spirit from the movie 300.

That too is a sign that Arsenal is acquiring a very different version from the player who once disappointed at Norwich. Tzolis had his first experience in the Premier League when he was just 19. However, he only started three matches in the season Norwich finished bottom and were relegated in 2022. A year later, the Greek player still couldn't find his footing in the Championship and had an unsuccessful loan spell at Twente.

Tzolis's career truly changed when he moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf, playing in the German second division. Regular playing time helped the winger regain his confidence and his ability to create chances, which had made him highly rated during his time at PAOK.

“In football, things don't always go up. You can face failures and difficulties. I learned a lot from my time at Norwich,”Tzolis shared.

After a successful season at Düsseldorf, he moved to Club Brugge and became one of the most prominent attackers in Belgian football. Over two seasons, Tzolis scored a total of 33 goals.

In the 2025/26 season alone, the Greek star contributed 17 goals and 23 assists, 16 more direct goal involvements than any other player in the Belgian league. That form helped Club Brugge reclaim the title and convinced Arsenal to spend big to bring him back to England.

“I feel I'm more ready for the Premier League. I've matured and improved a lot, both physically and mentally. I'm definitely no longer the player who wore the Norwich shirt. My time has come”,” Tzolis said.

Tzolis believes the circumstances at Norwich were not suited to his playing style. The team often had to defend deep, whereas he performs best when playing for a possession-based side that creates many chances.

At Arsenal, that environment can help Tzolis fully showcase his attacking qualities. He was chosen by coach Mikel Arteta to replace Leandro Trossard on the left flank and had two long conversations with the Spanish manager before signing.

“Arsenal was the club that showed the clearest interest. That made it easy for me to decide. I only wanted to come here and didn't want to hear any other offers,”Tzolis revealed.

After a journey full of ups and downs, Tzolis returns to the Premier League with better fitness, more experience, and high confidence. The Greek player affirms he will fight in every match, every battle, and give all his energy to Arsenal.

His performance on the training ground is just the beginning. However, for Tzolis, the time to prove that his Norwich career was merely a stumble has truly arrived.
