Vietnam team returns to Hanoi, awaiting victory over Cambodia

Following the impressive 3-0 win against Indonesia on their home turf at Pakansari (Bogor), the Vietnamese squad arrived back in Hanoi on the morning of August 4.

This result helped coach Kim Sang Sik and his players move to the top of Group A, building a major advantage in the race for a semifinal spot in the 2026 ASEAN Hyundai Cup.

This morning, August 4, the Vietnam team reached Hanoi after a successful away fixture against Indonesia in the third round of Group A at the 2026 ASEAN Hyundai Cup.

The 3-0 win over the home side not only delivered three crucial points but also put Kim Sang Sik's men at the summit of Group A, giving them full control of their push for the semifinals.

In the match at Pakansari Stadium (Bogor), Vietnam displayed efficiency in both attack and defense, claiming the win through strikes from Nguyen Van Vi, Nguyen Hai Long, and Xuan Son.

Speaking after the match, coach Kim Sang Sik expressed contentment with his players' determination: "This was an extremely difficult away game. The players gave everything they had and earned the victory.

These three points make the team's situation more comfortable. I thank the players for their efforts and also thank the fans who came to the stadium as well as those watching on television back home. We will keep preparing well for the next match."

According to the plan, after arriving back in Hanoi, Vietnam will focus on recovery before returning to training to get ready for the home game against Cambodia at My Dinh National Stadium. This will be Vietnam's final group-stage match of the 2026 ASEAN Championship, taking place on August 7.

With the high morale from the victory on Indonesian soil and the coaching staff's thorough preparation, Vietnam is aiming for a win to fulfill its targets in the group stage before entering the knockout rounds.
