Indonesia's center-back Justin Hubner posted a message on Instagram after the victory of the Vietnam national team.
The 0-3 loss of the Indonesian team against Vietnam in Group A of the 2026 ASEAN Cup caused defender Justin Hubner to react notably. Although he was not included in the tournament squad, the player currently playing for Fortuna Sittard quickly shared a striking message on social media.

Justin Hubner spoke out via his personal Instagram story. The 23-year-old defender believes that the excitement of some fans is excessive and argues that Indonesia and Vietnam have previously faced each other in more prestigious competitions.

Without writing at length, Hubner sent a short but meaningful message to the Vietnamese team: "They forgot what we did to them in the World Cup qualifiers."
This statement is believed to refer to the two matches between Indonesia and Vietnam in the second round of the 2026 World Cup Asian qualifiers. In this official FIFA competition, Indonesia won both games against Vietnam.
Hubner then commented under a post by the Seasiagoal account on Instagram: "Congratulations on a non-FIFA official tournament. We will beat you again in official matches. Congratulations."
Meanwhile, the loss to Vietnam at the 2026 ASEAN Cup makes it difficult for coach John Herdman's team to secure a semifinal spot. Indonesia will face Singapore in the final group stage match on July 8. That match will determine the chances of the archipelago nation advancing in the 2026 ASEAN Cup.
