BREAKING: The Public Security football team has set off a European bombshell

HCMC Public Security Club has triggered a huge deal, acquiring an experienced European midfielder to bolster their central line before a season full of ambition.

The Ho Chi Minh City Police Football Club has officially announced Aldair Ferreira, finalizing the deal that had previously been rumored. The Angolan midfielder becomes the third foreign player for the Thong Nhat Stadium side for the 2026/27 season, following Michael Olaha and Dirk Abels. This move shows that the police force's team is focusing on strengthening the central spine with players who have been tested in professional environments.

Aldair was born on March 26, 1998 in Luanda, stands 1.75m tall, and is left-footed. He can play as a defensive midfielder or central midfielder, excelling in tackling, ball recovery, and maintaining a high work rate. His training background is also noteworthy: he joined Sporting CP's academy at age 10, moved to Gil Vicente in 2013, and completed his youth career there.

Aldair Ferreira CATPHCM
Aldair Ferreira has officially donned the red jersey of HCMC Public Security Club.

After turning professional, Aldair played in Portugal, Bulgaria, Greece, and Lithuania before joining FC Botosani in Romania in January 2024. On June 11, 2026, the Romanian club confirmed he was no longer part of their plans for the new season, paving the way for the 28-year-old midfielder to move to Vietnam as a free agent.

Aldair's most notable mark in Romania came in the 2024/25 season. He played 2,199 minutes in the regular phase of the SuperLiga, the most of any FC Botosani player, and also scored two goals. After a 2-0 win over Rapid Bucuresti, Aldair was named in the Team of the Week for round 12. The Liga Profesionista de Fotbal commented: "Aldair dominated the midfield and scored his second goal of the season." Those numbers show that the new recruit of HCMC Public Security is not only eye-catching due to his resume, but has also held an important role at a club in the Romanian national championship.

Aldair Ferreira
Aldair Ferreira does not have an impressive height, but his upper and lower body are both thick and sturdy.

Aldair was also called up to the Angola national team for two matches against Ghana and Sudan in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in November 2024. This is a notable milestone in the 28-year-old midfielder's career before his move to the V.League.

With a left-footed player, full of energy and experienced across multiple European football leagues, HCMC Public Security has added a midfield sweeper in the true sense. The rest will depend on Aldair's speed of adaptation to the climate, the pace of the V.League, and how he connects with his new teammates at Thong Nhat Stadium.
