In the second leg of the Copa do Brasil Round of 16 held on August 5th Beijing time, Santos defeated Remo-Belém 1-0 away from home, winning the two-legged tie 1-0 on aggregate and advancing to the quarterfinals.

In this match, the 34-year-old Brazilian superstar Neymar came off the bench in the second half and provided the assist for the winning goal in the 74th minute. However, compared to his assist, Neymar's provocative behavior after the match drew even more attention.

After the game, tensions escalated as players from both teams headed to the locker rooms. Possibly due to insults and provocations suffered during the match, Neymar's celebration was excessive. In the mixed zone, he gesticulated wildly, danced, and repeatedly shouted "Eliminated! Eliminated!" to taunt the opposing club's officials and fans.
This action infuriated the opponents. Staff and management of Remo-Belém shouted insults at Neymar and responded with middle fingers. The intense confrontation left many Santos players stunned.

After the match, Remo-Belém President Teixeira criticized Neymar's attitude in an interview, calling the Santos star a scoundrel.

He said: "This bastard Neymar, with all the children looking up to him as an idol, comes here playing these circus clown tricks, and now he dares to provoke us. Our greatest sin is to have elevated such a scoundrel into a lofty idol."
