Dinh Hong Vinh, the interim head coach of U23 Vietnam, shared important insights during the brief training session for the Asian Games.

U23 Vietnam has officially reconvened. for a short training camp in Hanoi aimed at reviewing and evaluating the squad and preparing for the 2026 Asian Games. This is an opportunity for the coaching staff to assess the players' form, while continuing to build the core squad and refine the playing style before entering a more important preparation phase.

While Coach Kim Sang Sik is with the Vietnam national team at the 2026 AFF Cup, Coach Dinh Hong Vinh continues to be entrusted with the technical management of U23 Vietnam.. This coach, along with his staff, focuses on maintaining physical fitness, enhancing coordination, and helping players adapt to the tactical requirements of the coaching team.

Speaking about the training situation, Coach Dinh Hong Vinh remarked: "In recent days, the U23 Vietnam team has gathered well. Of course, we face certain difficulties as many players have to arrange their schedules to fit with their clubs' pre-season training plans. But regardless, the VFF and U23 Vietnam must share and accompany the clubs." The fact that many clubs are preparing for the new season means the U23 Vietnam squad cannot maintain stability.

Despite frequent lineup changes, the coaching staff has noted many positive professional signals. Coach Dinh Hong Vinh stated: "In this training camp, the coaching staff has recognized faces with outstanding performances such as Cong Phuong, Van Thuan, Nguyen Hoang, Tuan Phong... The biggest positive point of this camp is building the playing style and creating cohesion for the whole team. Most players clearly understand the technical and tactical requirements set by the coaching staff."

Coach Dinh Hong Vinh added: "The tactical patterns have been shaped, even though we don't have the best squad for the Asian Games and the lineup is often disrupted. The U23 Vietnam coaching staff is determined to accompany and share with the clubs as they prepare for the new season. We are very pleased that all players have a very good attitude and spirit. All positions are highly focused, showing their desire when fulfilling duties for the national team."

According to the plan, U23 Vietnam will continue training in Hanoi until August 6, before releasing the players back to their clubs. Coach Dinh Hong Vinh and his team are expected to reconvene in mid-September, then travel to Japan to participate in the 2026 Asian Games. In the group stage, U23 Vietnam is in Group C alongside Uzbekistan, the Philippines, and Kuwait.
