Vinicius speaks out for the first time amid rumors of leaving Real Madrid to join Arsenal

Amid speculations about a potential move to Arsenal, Vinicius Junior speaks out for the first time, sharing his future at Real Madrid and his relationship with coach Jose Mourinho.

As his future becomes a hot topic on the transfer market, Vinicius Junior has officially spoken out after a series of reports claiming that Arsenal is determined to take him away from Real Madrid this summer.

After the post-2026 World Cup break, the Brazilian star returned to the Valdebebas headquarters to join Real Madrid, completed medical checks, and began preparations for the new season. This is also the first time Vinicius has appeared before the media since rumors of a possible move to Arsenal emerged.

Sharing with Real Madrid's television channel, the 26-year-old player did not directly address the transfer rumors but focused on his relationship with new coach Jose Mourinho. "Everything is going very well. I am getting used to the new coach, new teammates, and training hard. He wants me to continue being myself, always happy, positive, and playing the football I have always shown."

Vinicius also acknowledged that the pre-season training period is always a significant challenge, especially after a long World Cup campaign. "The goal is to achieve the best physical condition to minimize injuries during the season. We have had two very heavy training days, yesterday two sessions, and today we continue with strength exercises. At the end of the session, everyone is almost exhausted, but that's normal for the pre-season period."

Although Vinicius is still training with Real Madrid, his future is not yet secured. His current contract runs only until June 2027, and renewal negotiations are at an impasse as the two sides have not found common ground on salary.

Meanwhile, Arsenal is reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation. Mikel Arteta's team is ready to make Vinicius the biggest contract in club history, even willing to break the wage structure to convince the Brazilian international to move to the Emirates.

For Real Madrid, the management still hopes to keep their star number one on the frontline. However, if Vinicius continues to refuse to sign a new contract, the Santiago Bernabéu side is reportedly considering selling him this summer rather than risking losing him for free in 2027.
