Conference on Organizing the 2027 AFC U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers

On the afternoon of August 5, the Conference on Organizing Group C of the 2027 AFC U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers took place at the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho Province.

The conference was chaired by Mr. Dao Tien Cuong – Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho Province, Head of the Local Organizing Committee, with the attendance of representatives from provincial departments, boards, branches and relevant agencies. On behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Mr. Nguyen Van Phu – General Secretary, along with representatives of specialized departments directly involved in the tournament organization, attended.

At the conference, delegates focused on reviewing the organizational plan and agreeing on coordination methods between the VFF and the Local Organizing Committee to ensure the best conditions for hosting Group C of the 2027 U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers. The discussions focused on key work groups such as: professional matters, facilities for competition and training venues, security, medical services, logistics, communications, sponsorship, advertising, and other service conditions as required by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Speaking at the conference, VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu highly appreciated the proactive preparation of Phu Tho Province, and requested the Local Organizing Committee to continue close coordination with the VFF to effectively implement work items according to schedule.

In particular, special attention was paid to ensuring requirements for facilities, security, medical services, traffic, logistics, communications, power supply for live television broadcasts, as well as organizational conditions according to AFC standards, thereby contributing to a safe, professional and successful tournament.

Concluding the conference, Mr. Dao Tien Cuong – Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho Province, agreed with the implementation contents and specifically assigned tasks to relevant departments, boards, branches and units. He emphasized the requirement for regular and close coordination between the Local Organizing Committee and the VFF to promptly handle arising issues, ensure synchronized preparation, fully meet AFC requirements, and contribute to the successful organization of Group C of the 2027 U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers.

According to the plan, Group C of the 2027 AFC U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers will take place from August 31 to September 6, 2026 at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho), with the participation of four U20 teams: Vietnam, Iran, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), and Palestine. The Vietnam U20 team will face DPRK (August 31), Palestine (September 3), and Iran (September 6).
