Despite fielding a host of new signings, Chelsea still suffered a bitter defeat to Juventus.

Although Chelsea had many chances and used a series of offensive players, they were still helpless against Juventus, losing 0-1 in the friendly match in Hong Kong.

Chelsea continues to be a source of disappointment. During their pre-season preparations, they lost 0-1 to Juventus at Kai Tak Sports Park. Xabi Alonso's side dominated possession and applied pressure, but their poor finishing proved costly.

The Spanish manager sent out a team featuring several new signings. Danny Welbeck partnered Joao Pedro in attack, with Marco Palestra and Geovany Quenda energetic on the right side. Mykhailo Mudryk was back in the matchday squad wearing number 43, but Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill were missing.

Chelsea took the initiative early on and pressed Juventus' backline. In the 12th minute, Joao Pedro connected with a cross from Quenda, but his near-post header missed the target. Soon after, Quenda attempted a left-footed effort from a narrow angle, but the opposing goalkeeper was equal to it.

Xabi Alonso is still searching for the winning formula for Chelsea.

Juventus had less possession than Chelsea, but their counter-attacks posed constant threats. In the 20th minute, Fabio Miretti collected a pass from Andrea Cambiaso and fired from inside the area, but his shot lacked accuracy.

Towards the end of the first half, Robert Sanchez gave Chelsea's backline a scare when he spilled a cross. But he redeemed himself with a flying stop to deny a threatening long-range effort from Jeremie Boga, ensuring the score remained 0-0 at the break.

In the second half, Xabi Alonso introduced Liam Delap, Estevao, Dastan Satpaev, and Mudryk to boost the attack. Juventus also made several substitutions, and the arrival of Edon Zhegrova proved decisive.

Edon Zhegrova netted the solitary goal as Juventus beat Chelsea.

In the 68th minute, Kenan Yildiz picked up the ball near the edge of the box and laid it off to Zhegrova. The substitute unleashed a well-placed left-footed shot into the far corner, giving Mike Penders no chance to save.

Trailing by a goal, Chelsea pushed higher up the pitch and applied significant pressure in the closing stages. Estevao's curling effort in the 82nd minute was superbly saved by Mattia Perin. One minute later, the Juventus keeper again came to the rescue, stopping a low drive from Satpaev.

Chelsea brought on multiple forwards but were unable to find a goal. The 0-1 loss highlights that Xabi Alonso's side still has plenty of work to do, particularly in finishing. Chelsea will face AC Milan in a friendly match on August 8, while Juventus will take on Inter Milan.
