The Vietnamese futsal team faced a major challenge against hosts Thailand in their final match of the 2026 Continental Futsal Championship. After the opening 20 minutes, coach Diego Raul Giustozzi's squad found themselves trailing 0–3.
Right from the start, Thailand pushed high and applied pressure. In the 2nd minute, Atippong capitalized on a defensive mistake by Vietnam to open the scoring. By the 7th minute, Panut punished another midfield turnover, dribbling past goalkeeper Ho Van Y to double the lead.
The Vietnamese futsal team tried to respond with shots from Trong Kien and Doan Phat, but they could not beat goalkeeper Kaewwilai. The clearest opportunity came in the 15th minute when Cong Dai unleashed a powerful strike that hit the crossbar, a very unfortunate miss.
Meanwhile, Thailand kept up heavy pressure and scored their third goal in the 13th minute. Panut completed his brace after a slick combination play just outside the box, beating Ho Van Y with a deft finish.

In the 38th minute, the tireless efforts of coach Giustozzi's players were rewarded when Da Hai rushed in to tap home from close range after a teammate's well‑placed pass, sealing a 3–3 draw.
