Many Thai fans couldn't hide their disappointment when their team squandered a three-goal lead, allowing the Vietnamese futsal team to mount a dramatic comeback and draw 3-3 in the 2026 Continental Futsal Championship Thailand.
The fact that the opponent equalized from a three-goal deficit caused strong reactions from the Thai fan community. Many opinions suggested that the home team played complacently and lost focus in the second half.
A Thai fan commented: “Unbelievable! We were leading 3-0 but ended up with only one point. The defense completely lost control.”
Another fan wrote: “Thailand played very well in the first half, but lost the game too quickly. Vietnam deserved the draw because they never gave up.”
Meanwhile, a fan expressed concern: “If we continue to play like in the second half, we will face a lot of difficulties against Russia. The team needs to learn from this quickly.”
Another account acknowledged: “Vietnam showed admirable fighting spirit. When they scored the first goal, I felt Thailand start to panic.”
The Thai futsal team seemed to have victory in hand after building a big lead in the first half. Atippong opened the scoring with a close-range tap-in, before Panut scored consecutively, helping the Land of Smiles enter the break with a 3-0 advantage.
With that development, many Thai fans believed their team would easily take all three points. However, the match completely changed in the second half when the Vietnamese futsal team mounted a strong comeback.
Chau Doan Phat started the comeback with a fierce long-range shot, reducing the deficit to 1-3. Then, Minh Quang kept Vietnam's hopes alive with a bold strike from distance. With about two minutes left, Da Hai took advantage of a favorable pass from his teammate to score the equalizing goal to make it 3-3.
The draw helped Vietnam futsal earn 8 points after four matches and continue to keep their hopes of winning the championship alive. Thailand currently has 7 points and still has one match yet to play against Russia.
