Manchester United have completed their goalkeeper overhaul by sending Altay Bayindir on a loan with a €4 million option to buy, and the next step is to loan out Joshua Zirkzee.

Altay Bayindir's move from Manchester United was slightly behind schedule but ultimately completed as anticipated. The 28-year-old Turkish goalkeeper traveled to Vigo on Tuesday and underwent a medical examination with Celta. The next day, renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano gave the "here we go" confirmation.

According to Romano, Celta Vigo have signed Bayindir on loan with a €4 million (£3.4 million) option to buy, with the final fee depending on the player's appearances. United have given the green light for the medical and contract signing, meaning the transfer is essentially just awaiting official announcement.

Bayindir joined Manchester United from Fenerbahce in 2023 for €5 million but has made only 17 appearances across all competitions. This move will allow him to compete for a regular starting spot. Reports suggest United preferred a permanent sale, but Celta's loan proposal was ultimately accepted. If all goes smoothly, Bayindir is expected to join Celta's preseason preparations immediately, with La Liga and the Premier League starting at the same time this season.

Bayindir's departure marks the completion of Manchester United's goalkeeper overhaul. The club has extended the loan of André Onana to Trabzonspor in Turkey, where he will have the chance to challenge Galatasaray alongside former Liverpool star Mohamed Salah. However, the deal has no purchase option, and the 30-year-old Onana will return next summer.

Young goalkeeper Radek Vítek, 22, is set to join Championship side Middlesbrough on a permanent transfer. Like Bayindir, he wants more playing time rather than being a backup to Senna Lammens. According to The Athletic, the initial fee is £7 million, with potential add-ons that could bring the total to £14 million.

If Middlesbrough achieve promotion and Vítek makes a certain number of appearances, United will receive the full transfer fee. The Red Devils also have a chance to earn up to 35% of any future sell-on fee. The final transfer amount and potential future income depend on Vítek and Middlesbrough's performances. Additionally, United have included a buy-back clause and a corresponding right of first refusal.

The club has signed former Leeds United goalkeeper Karl Darlow on a free transfer to serve as the second-choice goalkeeper. The 35-year-old Welsh international is currently recovering from minor surgery. If he is not ready for the start of the new season, 40-year-old third-choice Tom Heaton, who has renewed his contract for one more season, can temporarily fill in.

Also re-signed is academy goalkeeper Dermot Mee, who serves as a training partner for the first team. United have also signed 19-year-old goalkeeper Kit Margetson from Championship side Swansea City as a reserve option. The Welsh youth international joins the squad. Thus, the goalkeeping lineup for Carrick's new season is set: Lammens, Darlow, Heaton, Mee, and Margetson form the goalkeeping unit.

Next, Manchester United's left-back and striker positions could be the next areas for transfer adjustments. Among them, Juventus in Serie A remain interested in Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee. According to Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the 25-year-old Zirkzee is in talks with his agent and Juventus, and the Red Devils are likely to agree to a loan move.

Zirkzee scored a brilliant goal and provided an assist in Manchester United's match against Norwegian side Rosenborg. However, in the following game, he was placed on the bench by Carrick, and the team played without a striker. This signals Zirkzee's future: if he stays at Old Trafford, he will not only be a backup to the €85 million center-forward Šeško but also fall behind the "false nine" Mbeumo in the pecking order.

Both sides are still negotiating the final details of the transfer. Reports suggest the deal structure could be similar to that of Højlund's move to Napoli last season. One scenario is that Juventus will pay a €4 million loan fee and cover the player's wages. If the club qualifies for next season's Champions League, they will need to pay €30 million to make the move permanent. This price would ensure Manchester United do not make a loss on the books, as they originally paid €42.5 million for Zirkzee.

Other players who could leave Manchester United this summer include left-back Harry Amass, midfielders Toby Collier and Dan Gore, and forward Ethan Wheatley.
