At 11:00 today, Coach Kim Sang Sik and Cambodia's head coach, Mr. Koji Gyotoku, will attend the pre-match press conference for the final round of Group A in the 2026 Asean Cup.

Following a 3-0 victory in Indonesia, the team atmosphere is relaxed but still maintains high focus towards the goal of defending the top spot in the group.

The Vietnamese futsal team concluded the Continental Championship Friendly Tournament – Thailand 2026 with an emotional 3-3 draw against hosts Thailand, thereby maintaining an unbeaten record after four matches.

Against a higher-rated opponent with home advantage, Coach Diego Raul Giustozzi's side faced many difficulties in the first half, trailing 3-0 to Thailand.

The Vietnamese futsal team showed resilient fighting spirit in the second half with an impressive comeback. Players scored three consecutive goals to level the score at 3-3, earning a well-deserved point after 40 intense minutes.

This result helped the Vietnamese futsal team finish the friendly tournament unbeaten, with a 2-2 draw against Russia, a 4-1 win over New Zealand, a 2-1 victory over Afghanistan, and a 3-3 draw with hosts Thailand.

Cambodia team arrives late

On the evening of August 5, Coach Koji Gyotoku's squad arrived in Hanoi after a journey affected by weather. The team quickly moved to the hotel to rest and prepare for the pre-match training session before the final Group A match.

Before their away trip to Vietnam, the Cambodia team parted ways with three players: naturalized striker Abdel Kader Coulibaly, midfielder Sieng Chanthea, and Mat Noron, who returned to serve their clubs.

With a depleted squad and already eliminated after two consecutive losses to Singapore and Indonesia, Cambodia's coaching staff affirmed that the team will give their all for the national colors.

Vietnam holds a significant advantage after a 3-0 victory in Indonesia, moving to the top of Group A with 7 points.

A win against Cambodia will help Coach Kim Sang Sik's side retain the top spot, thereby gaining an advantage ahead of the tournament's semi-finals.

Unified plan for organizing U20 Asian qualifiers in Phu Tho

Preparations for Group C of the 2027 U20 Asian Qualifiers in Phu Tho are being carried out urgently to ensure the best conditions for the tournament, which will take place from September 21 to 29 at Viet Tri Stadium.

On the afternoon of August 5, at the Phu Tho Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) coordinated with the local authorities to hold a meeting to implement organizational work.

Representatives from various units reviewed all plans related to facilities, security, medical services, media, logistics, and reception arrangements for participating teams, aiming to ensure the tournament runs safely, professionally, and in accordance with AFC regulations.
