WTT Yokohama Schedule on August 6: Four Chinese National Team Players to Compete, Men's Singles Seek First Win, Chen Yi vs. Miwa Harimoto

On August 6 Beijing time, the WTT Yokohama Champions will see its third day of matches. The schedule features six Round of 32 matches and five Round of 16 matches. Four Chinese National Team players will compete: Xiang Peng, Chen Yuanyu, Chen Xingtong, and Chen Yi. Xiang Peng versus Russian player Sidorenko, Chen Yuanyu versus French veteran Simon, Chen Xingtong versus French player Pavade, and the focal point is the China-Japan showdown between Chen Yi and Miwa Harimoto—a battle of titans!

In the first two match days, both Chinese men's singles players failed to reach the Round of 16. Wen Ruibo and Zhou Qihao suffered straightforward losses, enduring two heavy blows from the start. This is understandable—the men's singles team is not fully prepared and faces numerous risks. Fortunately, the women's singles players performed strongly. Chen Xingtong, Kuai Man, Chen Yi, and Wang Yidi all advanced smoothly, securing four consecutive wins. Among them, Chen Yi's progression was the most thrilling, as she came from 0-2 down to stage a stunning 3-2 comeback against South Korean player Lee Eunhye. The women's singles still have a chance to contend for the title!

This morning, the final six Round of 32 matches will take place, after which all Round of 16 spots will be determined. Two Chinese men's singles players will aim for the Round of 16: Xiang Peng will face Russian player Sidorenko. This opponent is highly talented, difficult to handle, and has shown a clear upward trend, having recently finished runner-up at the US Grand Smash. Xiang Peng will face a tough test, and winning will be very challenging.
