The Cong Viettel signs Rimario, accelerates preparations for V.League 2026/27

The Cong - Viettel is rapidly completing its roster for the V.League 2026/27 campaign, with the goal of challenging for domestic honors and making an impact in the AFC Champions League Two.

The latest highlight for the army-backed club is the signing of striker Rimario Allando Gordon. Born in 1994, the forward holds dual Jamaican and American citizenship, stands at 1.80 m tall, and is regarded as one of the highest-quality foreign players in the V.League due to his physique, speed, and versatile finishing ability.

After nearly eight years playing in Vietnam, Rimario has represented several clubs and made a name for himself by winning the V.League 2022 Golden Boot with 17 goals. To date, the striker has scored 76 goals in 158 domestic matches, promising to bring a significant boost to The Cong - Viettel’s attack in the upcoming season.

The addition of Rimario demonstrates the army-backed team’s determination to upgrade its firepower ahead of the 2026/27 season. With extensive experience in the V.League, the 32-year-old forward is expected to quickly integrate and become a key attacking spearhead in the coaching staff’s tactical system.

According to the plan, in the coming days The Cong - Viettel will continue to announce the remaining foreign players to complete the squad.

Previously, The Cong - Viettel had announced a series of new contracts to strengthen the lineup, including Triệt Việt Hưng and Phan Trung Hiếu, while retaining two foreign players Wesley Nata and Paulinho Martin.

The strong investment in the squad reflects the army-backed team’s ambitions in the V.League 2026/27 title race, while also laying the foundation for their campaign in the AFC Champions League Two.
