The super striker set to naturalize has officially landed at a V.League giant.

The Cong Viettel officially recruits forward Rimario Gordon, making it the eighth team for the Jamaican striker in the V.League.

The Cong Viettel has just officially announced a notable contract. The deal brings in Rimario Gordon to boost the squad for the 2026/27 season. The Jamaican striker is expected to become the main attacking spearhead for the army team in their campaigns in the V.League, National Cup, and the AFC Champions League Two. This is also the eighth club in Vietnam that this experienced striker has played for since arriving in the V.League.

Rimario made his mark in Vietnamese football in 2018, quickly building a reputation with his powerful style, speed, and effective goal-scoring. After playing for many different clubs, the 1994-born striker has consistently performed well and is regarded as one of the most successful foreign players in V.League history. In nearly eight years of play, he has made 158 appearances and scored 76 goals in Vietnamese professional football.

Rimario's biggest achievement came in the 2022 season when he won the V.League Golden Boot with 17 goals. His ability to power through defenses, intelligent positioning, and strong bursts of speed make the dual Jamaican-American striker a constant threat to any defense. These qualities led The Cong Viettel to decide to bring him in to significantly upgrade their attacking force ahead of the new season.

Having Rimario not only gives the army team an experienced goalscorer but also opens up many tactical options for the coaching staff. With his solid physical fitness and wide-ranging movement, the 32-year-old striker is expected to combine effectively with the attacking players, bringing diversity in how they approach the opponent's goal.
