Arsenal counts down to parting ways with the five-time Premier League-winning striker

Napoli is accelerating the pursuit of Gabriel Jesus, while Arsenal is reportedly setting a minimum price to enter negotiations over the future of the Brazilian forward.

Gabriel Jesus's future at Arsenal is becoming a notable issue during the current transfer window. According to Brazilian media, Napoli has shown strong interest in the 29-year-old striker and is evaluating the possibility of bringing him to Serie A.

Arsenal is not ruling out the possibility of letting Jesus go. However, the London club is only willing to start discussions if they receive a valuable offer of 20 million euros or more.

According to Brazil's Globo, Napoli is believed to be very serious about this deal. Gabriel Jesus himself still has strong feelings for Arsenal and has personal milestones he wants to achieve in the Premier League. However, Napoli is an option the Brazilian striker is ready to consider, especially as he needs more regular playing time.

Last season, Jesus made 27 appearances across all competitions but only started 9 times. His position at Arsenal has also not improved significantly during the pre-season preparations for the new campaign.

In the two most recent friendlies, Jesus was not in the starting lineup. In the 4-1 victory over Girona, he was brought on in the first half and scored a goal. In the match where Arsenal lost 1-3 to Real Betis, the former Man City striker again only appeared from the bench in the second half.

This is not the first time Napoli has wanted to sign Gabriel Jesus. The southern Italian club previously tried to recruit the Brazilian striker in 2023, but he chose to stay with Arsenal at that time.

Jesus has now made 123 appearances, scoring 32 goals and providing 18 assists for the Gunners. He also has a notable collection of achievements in England with a total of 5 Premier League titles, including four with Manchester City and one with Arsenal.

If he continues to stay in the Premier League, Jesus also has the opportunity to set more memorable milestones.

With 79 goals, he is currently the second-highest Brazilian scorer in Premier League history, just three goals behind Roberto Firmino. Jesus also ranks second among Brazilian players with the most league titles, with five championships, one fewer than his compatriot Ederson.

These milestones might make Jesus want to continue his journey in England. However, the need for regular playing time and the strong interest from Napoli are opening up the possibility that Arsenal will part ways with one of the most experienced strikers in the squad this summer.
