Former MU star receives red card in preseason friendly, Bournemouth and Real Betis brawl.

The ex-Man United midfielder Antony got sent off after participating in a clash between Bournemouth and Real Betis players in the pre-season friendly held at the Benito Villamarin Stadium.

Tensions flared up in the closing stages of the first half between Real Betis and Bournemouth, with players from both teams charging at each other after a sideline altercation.

The situation started when Real Betis' Nelson Deossa fired a close-range shot at Bafode Diakite after a Bournemouth defender committed a foul on him. Deossa was shown a yellow card, but the Bournemouth players immediately moved in to protest.

As the majority of players merely headed to the scene of the altercation, Antony unexpectedly charged in and was observed shoving two Bournemouth players.

Alex Scott instantly went up to face the Brazilian. The Bournemouth midfielder shoved Antony back and pointed a finger at him. Antony then raised his arms and pushed Scott in return, after which Scott withdrew from the melee. The referee took a firm stance, brandishing red cards for both Antony and Scott right before the first half concluded.

Worth noting, Antony is considered to be the instigator of the brawl, with his actions heightening the conflict between the sides. This is a regrettable episode for the Brazilian as he gears up for the new campaign with Real Betis.

Prior to the altercation, Bournemouth were ahead 1-0 after Marcus Tavernier's 41st-minute strike. The second half saw a flurry of goals. Isco brought Real Betis level, only for Evanilson to put Bournemouth back in front on 60 minutes. The hosts equalized again late on through ex-West Ham midfielder Pablo Fornals, culminating in a 2-2 draw.

This match served as Bournemouth's second-to-last preseason friendly. They will play Mainz on the upcoming Saturday, followed by their season opener against Manchester City on August 23.
