Based on SofaScore's data, Vietnam leads the way with the highest number of representatives in the Top 10 individual highlights of the 2026 ASEAN Cup group stage. Four Vietnamese players earned a spot, accounting for almost half of the lineup.
SofaScore is a well-known football statistics platform that regularly rates players based on a wide range of professional metrics recorded in each match. Post-match scores are compiled to provide a fairly comprehensive reflection of each individual's performance.
After the group stage of the 2026 ASEAN Cup concluded, SofaScore released the list of 10 players with the highest average ratings. Notably, the top spot did not go to a player from highly rated teams like Vietnam, Thailand, or Indonesia. Instead, Myanmar striker Maung Maung Lwin, whose team was eliminated, leads the pack with an average score of 8.07.
Maung Maung Lwin played three matches in the group stage, facing Malaysia, the Philippines, and Laos. He scored one goal but made a strong impression with his playmaking ability, registering four assists. However, a red card in the match against Laos meant he could not participate in the decisive encounter with Thailand. His absence added to Myanmar's difficulties in that crucial game. The team subsequently lost 0-2 to Thailand and was knocked out after the group stage.

Right behind Maung Maung Lwin is Đình Bắc of the Vietnam national team. The 2004-born striker achieved a score of 8.05, making him the highest-ranked Vietnamese player on the list. Đình Bắc also leads the ASEAN Cup 2026 Golden Boot race with five goals. His movement, speed, and finishing efficiency have left a strong mark throughout the group stage matches.
Three other Vietnamese players also made the Top 10: Lê Phạm Thành Long, Hoàng Đức, and Hoàng Hên.
Lê Phạm Thành Long ranks fourth with 7.80 points. This midfielder is considered one of the noteworthy discoveries of Coach Kim Sang Sik in this year's tournament. He was given starting opportunities in matches against Indonesia and Cambodia, impressing with his tackling, ball circulation, and defensive support.

Meanwhile, Hoàng Đức ranks sixth with 7.65 points. Although he does not always directly contribute to goals, this midfielder continues to play a vital role in controlling the tempo and linking the different lines of the Vietnam team. Hoàng Hên is eighth with 7.50 points. He quickly developed strong chemistry with Xuân Son in attack, helping Vietnam maintain an effective offensive force during their campaign to finish top of the group.
Besides Vietnam and Myanmar, the Top 10 list also includes players from Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Thailand contributes two names: veteran Sarach Yooyen, who ranks fifth with 7.63 points, and young talent Kakana Khamyok, who is ninth with 7.43 points. Indonesia, despite being eliminated after the group stage, has one representative: midfielder Thom Haye with 7.98 points, placing third. The final player in the Top 10 is Sergio Aguero of Malaysia, with a score of 7.40.
Thus, with four representatives, Vietnam dominates the list of the most outstanding performers in the 2026 ASEAN Cup group stage in terms of numbers. Not only did the team achieve an impressive collective result by winning the group, but the Vietnamese squad also demonstrated depth in individual quality, with multiple players from different positions making their mark.
This is also a positive sign ahead of Coach Kim Sang Sik's team entering the semi-finals, where individual performances could become a decisive factor in high-stakes knockout matches.
