Vietnam's team drew 0-0 with Japan.

Vietnam's U20 side played a scoreless draw in their initial practice game in Japan, facing Osaka University of Economics.

On the afternoon of August 9, the squad U20 Vietnam participated in their first friendly match during the training trip in Japan, taking on Osaka University of Economics. The contest ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

This match is the first of six friendlies for U20 Vietnam in Japan, forming part of the preparation strategy for the 2027 AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers. With the aim of further reviewing and assessing the squad, the coaching staff proactively experimented with personnel and formations during this game.

In the first half, the head coach fielded one lineup before switching to a different set of players in the second half. Rotating the players gave the coaching team additional chances to evaluate each position's adaptability, coordination, and form under real match conditions.

After the match against Osaka University of Economics, U20 Vietnam will continue their training program with friendlies scheduled for August 10, 12, 13, 15, and 16. According to the plan, the upcoming opponents are Koukou High School, Kwansei Gakuin, Gojo High School, JFL Tiamo Hirakata, and Osaka Economics High School.

The training camp in Japan, lasting from August 7 to 17, is a crucial stage in U20 Vietnam's preparations for the 2027 AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers. Through these friendlies, the coaching staff will continue to refine the squad, playing style, and tactical approaches before the team returns home for the final preparation phase.

In Group C of the 2027 AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers, held from August 31 to September 6 at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho), U20 Vietnam will face North Korea, Palestine, and Iran in turn.
