Widespread information about the licensing fee for 20 matches of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026

Thai media has disclosed the cost of television broadcasting rights for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026.

FIFA is reportedly offering the television rights for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 at a price of around 3 million USD (78.5 billion VND), covering all 20 matches of the tournament (13 matches from Division 1 and 7 matches from Division 2), according to information from Ball Thai. However, according to Thai media, no domestic entity has yet made an offer due to the fee being considered quite high.

The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 is scheduled to take place from September 24 to October 3, 2026, within the FIFA Days period, thereby allowing national teams to call up their strongest squads.

The tournament is expected to feature 14 teams, divided into two divisions. Division 1 consists of 8 teams split into two groups, while Division 2 has 6 teams also divided into two groups. According to the current plan, Indonesia will host the Division 1 matches, while Division 2 matches are expected to be held in Hong Kong (China).

The Vietnam national team is competing in Division 1 and is considered one of the contenders for the championship. This is also an important opportunity for coach Kim Sang-sik and his players to play in an official FIFA fixture, aiming to improve their world ranking.

According to the current match schedule, Group B of Division 1 includes Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and Pakistan. This is considered a notable group as both Vietnam and Thailand are top Southeast Asian teams.

With the FIFA ASEAN Cup, not only the title but also FIFA ranking points, prize money, and commercial value are factors that draw attention to the tournament.

One of the most attractive aspects of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 is the substantial financial resources. According to announcements, each participating team will receive at least 125,000 USD in support, not including performance-based bonuses. The winner of the Premier Division will receive approximately 1 million USD, while the Challenge Division champion will be awarded around 300,000 USD.

Including the support funds for participating teams and performance-based bonuses, the total prize pool of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 exceeds 4 million USD, making it one of the tournaments with the largest prize funds in the history of Southeast Asian football.
