Brazilian coach Polking speaks frankly about CAHN's chance to make history in Asia

Coach Mano Polking considers the match against Adelaide United in the AFC Champions League Elite (ACLE) play-off as a major challenge, but also an opportunity for CAHN to make a mark for Vietnamese football on the continental stage.

CAHN Club is heading into the AFC Champions League Elite (ACLE) play-off against Adelaide United in Australia. Coach Mano Polking evaluates this as an opportunity for the police force's team to assert its ambition on the international stage, while also hoping that the experience of midfielder Brandon Mauk, who previously played for Adelaide United, will give CAHN an additional advantage in preparing for the match.

Coach Polking shared: "This is indeed a special match for Mauk, and more broadly, this is an important match for the entire CAHN team. Mauk is a great addition to the club, contributing a lot to the team's playing style and helping us dominate the V.League last season."

Coach Polking assessed that Brandon Mauk's experience at Adelaide United and Australian football is an advantage for CAHN, but affirmed that the team does not want to rely on any individual. Although Adelaide United is rated higher and has home advantage, the German strategist believes CAHN is capable of creating a surprise and aiming for a memorable milestone.

He said: "Adelaide may be under a bit more pressure because they are playing at home and are rated higher. However, CAHN is ready to make history for Vietnamese football. The club is developing very strongly. After winning the V.League last season, the next challenge is to compete on the international stage."

CAHN had a long journey to Australia to prepare for the match against Adelaide United. However, CAHN faces a major difficulty in manpower as 6 players including Đình Bắc, Việt Anh, Văn Đô, Văn Hậu, Quang Hải and Thành Long are gathered with the Vietnam National Team for the ASEAN Cup. Coach Polking acknowledged that this affects the preparation process, but still supports his players in fulfilling national duties and affirmed that the Vietnam National Team should be prioritized.

Coach Polking said: "Of course, the absence of 6 quality players will affect the preparation process. I really wish you were here to help the team. However, we understand that the national team's duty should be the top priority, and I am still very happy that the players are representing the national team. We will do our best to achieve the results the team desires."
