U20 Vietnam claimed a dominant victory in their second friendly match in Japan.

U20 Vietnam secured a 4-0 win over Koukou High School in the friendly match on August 10 afternoon, continuing their positive outcomes in the Japan training stint.

This was the second friendly for coach Yutaka Ikeuchi's side during the training camp aimed at preparing for the 2027 AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers.

U20 Vietnam started proactively and broke the deadlock in the first half through Tan Minh. In the second half, Cong Hau impressed with a double, before Quang Anh netted to make it 4-0.

In this match, the coaching staff continued to implement a rotation policy. Players who featured as starters in the previous day's friendly against Osaka University of Economics were rested, while the rest were given playing time.

The allocation of playing minutes helps U20 Vietnam preserve their fitness amid the fairly tight schedule of friendlies in Japan. With 30 players in the squad, coach Yutaka Ikeuchi also has more chances to test different lineups and assess each player's suitability before finalizing the core squad for the 2027 AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers.

As scheduled, U20 Vietnam have four more friendlies on August 12, 13, 15, and 16. The team will conclude their training camp in Japan on August 17 and return home.

In Group C of the 2027 AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers, U20 Vietnam will face North Korea, Palestine, and Iran. The matches are set to take place from August 31 to September 6 at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho).
