Opening of the 2026 Legal and Player Eligibility Workshop

On the morning of August 11, the VFF inaugurated the 2026 Legal and Player Eligibility Workshop, attracting more than 150 participants.

On the morning of August 11, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the 2026 Legal and Player Eligibility Workshop was officially launched. Taking place over two days, August 11 and 12, the program brought together over 150 delegates from VFF member clubs and units, along with representatives from FIFA and specialized committees.

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Tran Anh Tu – VFF Vice President, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoi – Standing Member of the Executive Committee and Deputy Head of the VFF Player Eligibility Board, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu – VFF General Secretary, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha – VFF Deputy General Secretary, and Mr. Rodrigo Tittoto – FIFA representative. The presence of international experts is expected to provide insights closely aligned with current professional football practices.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Tran Anh Tu emphasized that legal and player eligibility work is increasingly important as Vietnamese football enhances professionalism and international integration. The VFF hopes that clubs can accurately update new regulations, thereby improving efficiency in player registration, contract management, transfers, and professional governance activities.

“We believe that the insights shared by FIFA experts and the contributions based on the practical operations of clubs will bring many practical values, contributing to building a professional, transparent, and sustainably developing football environment,” emphasized Tran Anh Tu – VFF Vice President.

Within the program framework, clubs and member units also have the opportunity to directly exchange with FIFA experts, the VFF, and relevant units on issues arising in practice. The discussion content focuses on legal status, player eligibility, new points in the Vietnam Football Regulations, player registration work, and the FIFA Connect system – the national online registration platform.

Through the workshop, the VFF aims to enhance the legal capacity of clubs, while reducing the risk of disputes arising between clubs, players, and coaches. This is considered an important step to strengthen transparency and professionalism in football management, creating a foundation for Vietnamese football to better meet international football standards.
