Thai media: 'Vietnam's stadium built so fast it seems like AI'

Thai media expressed surprise at the PVF Stadium footage, thinking it was AI-generated until they confirmed it was a real construction site.

The page Krian Buriram from Thailand recently shared its astonishment at the images and construction speed of PVF Stadium. This project has drawn significant attention due to its 60,000-seat capacity, designed to become one of Vietnam's top modern stadiums.

Notably, Krian Buriram even remarked that the PVF Stadium images initially looked like an AI-generated product, before investigating and discovering it was a real construction project.

Thai media stunned by the rapid construction of the 60,000-seat PVF Stadium

The page wrote: "Thought it was AI. Seeing Vietnamese fans commenting, I even thought the images were AI-generated. Only when I searched for videos did I realize they were real.

PVF Stadium, Vietnam's new venue, is truly massive in scale. How can they build so fast? In the blink of an eye, it's almost complete. Incredible! Absolutely spectacular!"

These comments emerged as PVF Stadium's construction is being accelerated. The project broke ground on October 19, 2025, and after less than 10 months of work, it has reportedly reached over 60% completion, with a target completion date of March 2027.

Currently, PVF Stadium is taking shape with all four stands being built simultaneously. Upon completion, the facility will hold approximately 60,000 seats, making it the second largest stadium in Vietnam after My Dinh.

The highlight of PVF Stadium is its massive dome roof, weighing about 22,000 tons. Two steel beams, each 269 meters long and nearly 4,500 tons, are being lifted onto four 72-meter-high support columns using super cranes capable of hoisting up to 1,250 tons.

This stadium will feature two translucent membrane panels measuring 78 by 125 meters, which can be fully opened or closed within 12 to 20 minutes. If completed on schedule, PVF will become Vietnam's first stadium with an automatic retractable roof, along with an end-zone glass curtain wall 36 meters high and 55 meters wide.

Beyond the main stadium, the 92-hectare sports complex includes a multi-purpose arena, training fields, technical areas, and various auxiliary facilities. The project is designed to FIFA standards, aiming to become a hub for training, competition, and hosting international sports events.

Notably, PVF's pitch uses modular hybrid grass technology similar to that of Wembley Stadium and the Singapore National Stadium. This technology ensures fast drainage, withstands high-intensity use, and meets the requirements for hosting major matches and large-scale sports events.
