Hanoi Police FC has a chance to face Ronaldo in Asia's top tournament.

CAHN has excellently earned the right to participate in the AFC Champions League Elite 2026-2027. If they continue to perform outstandingly and reach the quarterfinals, the police team will have the opportunity to face superstar Ronaldo.

Securing a spot in the AFC Champions League (ACL) Elite 2026-2027 holds great significance for CAHN. It is an opportunity for the Vietnamese club to compete against top continental teams, enhance their professional level, and promote the image of Vietnamese football on the international stage.

However, the challenges for CAHN are also immense. Representatives from Japan, South Korea, or Saudi Arabia all possess quality squads, extensive international experience, and superior financial resources. Nevertheless, the tournament's new League Stage format with various opponents will open opportunities for CAHN to create surprises.

According to the new competition format, Dinh Bac, Quang Hai, and their teammates have the chance to face Ronaldo, who is currently playing for Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia, and this club also participates in the AFC Champions League Elite 2026-2027.

While CAHN is in the East Asia region, Al Nassr is in the West Asia region. The condition for CAHN to meet Ronaldo's Al Nassr is that both teams must first advance past the League Stage and the Round of 16 after facing opponents from their respective regions.

If both CAHN and Al Nassr reach the quarterfinals and the draw is favorable, they could meet in this round. Otherwise, the two teams could face each other in the semifinals or final provided they both continue to advance.

According to the new format, the ACL Elite 2026-2027 is divided into two regions: East Asia and West Asia, each with 16 teams participating in the League Stage. Teams do not play a full round-robin; instead, each club will face 8 different opponents within the same region, consisting of 4 home matches and 4 away matches.

After the League Stage concludes, the top 8 teams in each region will qualify for the Round of 16. Here, teams still only face opponents from the same region and compete in a home-and-away format. The 8 winners overall will advance to the quarterfinals.

From the quarterfinals onward, the tournament switches to a centralized format. Teams from East Asia and West Asia are drawn against each other across regions, playing a single knockout match at a neutral venue. The semifinals and final are also single matches. Saudi Arabia has been granted the right by the AFC to host the centralized final rounds of the ACL Elite until 2029.
