CAHN receives over 22 billion VND after securing a spot in the Asian Champions League

Beating Adelaide United did more than just guarantee CAHN a place in the 2026/27 AFC Champions League Elite; it also brought in at least 22 billion VND in revenue.

CAHN has just achieved a significant milestone for Vietnamese football by defeating Adelaide United 2-0 on Australian soil in the 2026/27 AFC Champions League Elite playoff match.

David Henen opened the scoring in the 41st minute following an assist from Brayan Perea. In the second half, the two players switched roles as Henen set up Perea to secure the win in the 64th minute. This result propelled the Vietnamese representative into the main stage of Asia's most prestigious club competition.

Apart from the professional significance, this ticket also provided CAHN with substantial financial benefits. Under the official rules of the 2026/27 AFC Champions League Elite, each visiting team in the preliminary round receives $50,000 in travel support.

Upon entering the main stage, CAHN receives an additional $800,000 participation fee. Therefore, the police club is guaranteed a total of $850,000, equivalent to approximately 22.1 billion VND.

This figure could increase significantly based on CAHN's results. Each victory in the main stage earns a $100,000 bonus. If they advance past the first phase to the round of 16, the Vietnamese team gets an extra $200,000.

The subsequent support amounts are $400,000 for reaching the quarterfinals and $600,000 for making the semifinals. These are all additional payments on top of what CAHN has already received.

Notably, the 2026/27 season regulations stipulate that the runner-up receives $4 million, while the champion earns $10 million. AFC will retain 5% of the prize money for the two finalists to contribute to the AFC Dream Asia Fund. Consequently, the actual amounts are $3.8 million for the runner-up and $9.5 million for the champion.

Participating in the AFC Champions League Elite opens a major opportunity for CAHN to elevate their professional standards, promote their brand, and generate extra income. It also marks a chance for Vietnamese football to compete again with the continent's top clubs.
