Ranked third, Zheng Qinwen's career prize money surpasses ten million dollars!

Despite being a young post-2000s player, Zheng Qinwen started gaining attention in the adult circuit in 2020, yet this week her career earnings have officially broken the $10 million barrier, hitting $10,002,57, now formally placed third in the Chinese Tennis Association rankings.

As the current absolute leading figure and star player in Chinese tennis, Zheng Qinwen reached a peak world ranking of fourth in recent seasons, which she achieved in June last year. Over these seasons competing professionally, she has accumulated 10 women's singles finals appearances, securing 5 titles and 5 runner-up finishes.

Among the 5 women's singles titles Zheng Qinwen has won, the highest-level ones are two WTA500 events – the 2024 Tokyo tournament and the 2023 Zhengzhou tournament, where she defeated Kenin and Krejcikova respectively in the finals to claim the championships. Of course, the most significant is the women's singles gold medal she won at the Paris Olympics.

Additionally, Zheng Qinwen has also won two WTA250 tournaments, consecutively triumphing at the Palermo event in 2023 and 2024, which marks her first successful title defense at a tournament.

Compared to her championship achievements, Zheng Qinwen's runner-up results in women's singles are even more impressive. As early as 2022 at the Tokyo 500-level event, she secured a runner-up finish; the following year at the Zhuhai small年终, she was defeated by Maya in the women's singles final, placing second.

In the 2024 Australian Open, she advanced to her first career Grand Slam women's singles final, where she was swept by Sabalenka with scores of 6-3, 6-2; also in the 2024 season, Zheng Qinwen earned runner-up positions at the WTA1000 Wuhan tournament and that year's WTA年终总决赛 women's singles, losing to Sabalenka and Gauff respectively in the finals.

Although Zheng Qinwen has missed two consecutive Grand Slam tournaments since last year's US Open, her career prize money this week still surpassed ten million dollars. After recovering from injury and regaining match form, she will continue to刷新 her earnings pool. Below is the current Chinese Tennis Association prize money income ranking:

No.1 Li Na $16,709,074

No.2 Zhang Shuai $12,462,256

No.3 Zheng Qinwen $10,002,57

No.4 Peng Shuai $9,617,653

No.5 Zheng Jie $6,157,773

Currently, Zheng Qinwen is actively preparing in Miami. According to her透露 during a media day interview, her upcoming schedule will focus more on 500 and higher-level events, and she has also narrowly qualified for the notoriously competitive WTA500 tournament – Stuttgart. This singles main draw has only 28 spots, featuring entrants like Sabalenka, Rybakina, Swiatek, Gauff, Paolini, Svitolina, Andreeva, Krejcikova, Alexandrova, Noskova, Muchova, Tauson, Mertens, Schneider, Kalinskaya, Samsonova, Ostapenko, Fernandez, and Zheng Qinwen.

Additionally, wild cards for this tournament have been awarded to Siegemund, Lis, and Seidel. We look forward to Zheng Qinwen delivering more standout performances this season and continuing to刷新 her prize money pool!(Source: Tennis Home Author: Barbie)
