Miami Open 2026 Men's Singles Final: Will Sinner Easily Claim Victory and Enter History?

Jannik Sinner is poised to achieve the Indian Wells and Miami Open 2026 championship double when meeting Czech opponent Jiri Lehecka in the Miami Open men's singles final.

The Czech representative had an impressive journey by defeating Arthur Fils to secure his first career ticket to the final in Florida, while Sinner also performed strongly by beating Alexander Zverev to appear in his 11th ATP 1000 final.

Notably, Lehecka "avenged" compatriot Jakub Mensik – the reigning champion eliminated early in the third round – thereby ensuring Czech tennis maintains a representative in the Miami Open men's singles final for two consecutive seasons.

Jannik Sinner faces the chance to complete the Indian Wells and Miami Open 2026 championship double against Czech opponent Jiri Lehecka in the Miami Open men's singles final.

Except for a slight stumble in the fourth round requiring three sets against Taylor Fritz, the 24-year-old player nearly had a flawless run. He successively defeated Moise Kouame, Ethan Quinn, Martin Landaluce, and most recently Fils, all in two sets.

In the semifinal, Lehecka lost merely four games in a dominant 6-2, 6-2 victory over Fils, did not face any break points, and successfully utilized four break opportunities – a performance elevating him to a new career milestone.

Sinner brims with hope to win Miami Open 2026

Seed number 21 had never appeared in any men's singles Masters final before Miami Open 2026, and more astonishingly, he has not lost any service games throughout the tournament. The last time a player reached a Masters final without losing a service game was Novak Djokovic at Shanghai Masters 2018 – the tournament where the Serbian player later became champion. This could be seen as a "good omen" for Lehecka before entering the toughest challenge of his career.

Meanwhile, Sinner continues to display devastating form. After recently winning Indian Wells, the Italian player repeated the semifinal scenario by defeating Zverev once again in the United States. Seed number two unleashed 15 aces in the 6-3, 7-6(4) victory, needing only one break of the opponent to decide the match, while successfully saving both break points created by Zverev.

Sinner is writing new pages of ATP history by becoming the first player to reach three consecutive Masters 1000 finals without losing any sets, after winning 2-0 at Paris Masters 2025 and Indian Wells 2026.

If he wins the Miami final, he will become the eighth player in history to complete the Indian Wells – Miami Open championship double in the same season, and the first since Roger Federer in 2017 to achieve this. To date, only 12 male and female players have accomplished the "Sunshine Double" in singles.
