Identify the players who have reached the quarterfinals of Roland Garros 2026

Despite the absence of Alcaraz, Sinner, and Djokovic, this year's Roland Garros hasn't lost its appeal.

The second Grand Slam of the year - the 2026 Roland Garros has entered its second week. After incredibly exciting and dramatic matches full of surprises, the best names in the quarterfinals have officially been revealed.

In the men's singles, the highest remaining seed, who is also the most promising candidate for this year's Roland Garros title, is Alexander Zverev. The German easily defeated Jesper de Jong in three sets to continue his quest for his first career Grand Slam title.Previously, Zverev had only lost one set in his third-round match against Quentin Halys.

Sascha's opponent in the quarterfinals will be the young talent Rafael Jodar - who staged a courageous comeback against his compatriot Pablo Carreno Busta. An exciting clash is expected, but of course Zverev retains the advantage thanks to his vastly superior experience.

Alexander Zverev is determined to end his Grand Slam drought.

Another equally exciting quarterfinal is the matchup between two young stars Joao Fonseca and Jakub Mensik. On their journey to their first career Grand Slam quarterfinal, both have achieved the unthinkable: Fonseca defeated Novak Djokovic and Casper Ruud – two strong title contenders; while Mensik "survived" a physical battle with Mariano Navone, then went on to beat Alex de Minaur and Andrey Rublev with his aggressive style.

The fourth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime after a close call against Daniel Altmaier in the first round, is gradually finding his best form on clay. Most recently, "FAA" needed only three sets to overcome Chilean clay-court specialist Alejandro Tabilo. The Canadian will face the 10th seed Flavio Cobolli.

Joao Fonseca is proving that his abilities are not overhyped.

The remaining quarterfinal is an Italian derby, a showdown between two players both named Matteo: Matteo Berrettini and Matteo Arnaldi. Berrettini is more experienced in high-pressure matches, but Arnaldi possesses abundant stamina and excellent competitive spirit – as demonstrated in his fourth-round match against Frances Tiafoe.

In the women's singles, as many as three Russian players have reached the quarterfinals: Diana Shnaider, Anna Kalinskaya and Mirra Andreeva. The chances for "Anna K" and "Andreeva the younger" to reach the semifinals are brighter, with their respective opponents being Maja Chwalinska and Sorana Cirstea, while Shnaider will face a major challenge – the top seed Aryna Sabalenka.

This year's women's singles at Roland Garros is dominated by players from Eastern Europe, with all eight quarterfinalists representing the region.

In addition, Marta Kostyuk and Elina Svitolina will together create an all-Ukrainian quarterfinal on the main Philippe Chatrier court. Svitolina has a certain advantage as she is considered the "French daughter-in-law" as the wife of Gael Monfils, so she can expect strong support, but it should be noted that Kostyuk has been undefeated on clay this season.

The quarterfinal matches of Roland Garros 2026 will take place from June 2 to June 4, Vietnam time.
