Hoa Lu Cup – the warm-up for the new season
Organized annually, the Hoa Lu Cup has long been the opening tournament for Vietnamese volleyball each year. In 2026, the event is held from March 18 to 23 at the Ninh Binh Provincial Gymnasium, featuring many strong domestic clubs.
The tournament includes men's and women's events, each with 6 teams divided into 2 groups. Teams will play a single round-robin to select outstanding names advancing to the semifinals.
In the men's event, Group A includes Ho Chi Minh City, Border Guard MB, and Ho Chi Minh City Police, while Group B consists of Hanoi, LPB Ninh Binh, and The Cong Tan Cang. The reigning champion Border Guard MB is still considered the top contender for the title due to its experienced roster and high professional quality.
In the women's event, Group A comprises VTV Binh Dien Long An, Hanoi, and VietinBank. Group B includes LPB Ninh Binh, Long Son Cement Thanh Hoa, and Signal Corps. With the home advantage, LPB Ninh Binh aims to defend the title but will face fierce competition from strong opponents.
