Border Guard did not take long to assert its strength against Ho Chi Minh City. The military-uniformed team gained advantage through solid defense and effective scoring via the coordinated play between Dinh Van Duy and Pham Van Hiep - Nguyen Ngoc Thuan.
Ho Chi Minh City also had bright moments from captain Thoai Khương's setting and some scoring plays by Hong Hoang or Che Quoc Vo Lit, but as the set progressed, the difference between the two sides became increasingly evident.
Set 2: Border Guard 25-16 Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City actually played better in the early stage of the set, surprisingly creating a 4-point gap. However, after Coach Tran Dinh Tien's timeout request, Border Guard regrouped, played steadily, and their focused blocking lineup created conditions for the military-uniformed team to surge ahead, gradually building a safe lead and racing to finish with a 9-point victory margin.
Set 3: Border Guard 25-18 Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City played hard hoping to win at least one set against Border Guard, but lacking the most seamless coordination and facing the opponent's superior strength prevented Tu Thanh Thuan and his teammates from achieving this goal.
Border Guard attacked very diversely and effectively, proving why they are currently a powerhouse in Vietnamese men's volleyball in domestic tournaments.
