Defeating Da Nang, The Cong Tan Cang secures their second victory in the 2026 National Volleyball Championship

The Cong Tan Cang continues to demonstrate their strength in the first stage of the 2026 National Volleyball Championship by overcoming Da Nang with a score of 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-22). This is the second win for the military-uniformed team, also showing a relatively clear disparity between the two sides at the current moment.

Entering the match under great pressure after two consecutive losses, Da Nang displayed high determination from the very first plays. However, the difference in squad quality quickly became evident.

The Cong Tan Cang proactively increased the pace, effectively exploiting flank attacks with good support from the setters. Da Nang's blocking line could not keep up with the opponent's ball deployment speed, continuously leaving gaps. Thanks to this, The Cong early on created a point gap and completely controlled the match situation. The first set concluded with a 25-19 victory, accurately reflecting the situation favoring the military-uniformed volleyball team.

In the second set, Da Nang performed more brightly by improving their defensive capability and organizing counterattacks. The Central region team actively chased the score, creating many moments of quite balanced stalemate. However, when the match entered the decisive phase, the composure of The Cong Tan Cang spoke up.

Foreign player Xue Zhihong became a pillar on the offensive line with powerful spikes, continuously penetrating the opponent's blocking line. This player's efficient handling situations helped The Cong pull ahead at crucial moments and secure a 25-23 victory, thereby gaining a significant advantage after two sets.

Trailing 0-2, Da Nang had to become more adventurous in the third set. From being behind 13-20, they played with great effort and managed to narrow the score to 20-21. Nevertheless, psychological pressure and the opponent's stability prevented them from creating a turnaround. The composure of The Cong Tan Cang players was demonstrated right on time. They scored three consecutive decisive final points to seal the set with a 25-22 victory, thereby securing a 3-0 overall win.

This is the second victory for The Cong Tan Cang, while for Da Nang, they have suffered three consecutive losses in the 2026 National Championship. Clearly, the men's volleyball team from the Central region still has much work to do to remain in the top-tier tournament of Vietnamese volleyball.
