Set 1: Vietnam 25-9 Hong Kong
Hong Kong started impressively in the first 3-4 points, but as the set progressed, the East Asian team's limitations in player quality became increasingly evident. Poor footwork and low hitting reach forced them to attempt difficult shots against Vietnam's block, resulting in numerous errors.
Our girls easily established their game plan with the chemistry of the Hanoi Tasco Auto trio: Nhu Quynh, Yen Nhi, and Le Thuy. Additionally, Nhu Anh and Dinh Thuy also made their mark, helping Vietnam achieve a dominant win in set 1.
Set 2: Vietnam 25-18 Hong Kong
A tougher set than expected for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet continued to rotate the lineup, featuring Kim Thoa, Kim Thanh, and Ly Luyen. We played quite well early on with Ly Luyen's serves, but later allowed the opponents to catch up.
The two sides were closely contested until the decisive points near the end of the set, where Vi Quynh and her teammates displayed the class and composure of the reigning champions. Vietnam took a 2-0 lead, making any surprise in set 3 highly unlikely.
Set 3: Vietnam 25-11 Hong Kong
In set 3, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet fielded the strongest lineup featuring Thanh Thuy, Bich Thuy, Le Thuy, Kim Thoa, Doan Xuan, Nguyen Uyen, and Khanh Dang. Naturally, with this top squad, Hong Kong had no chance to cause any trouble like they did in set 2. "4T" and her teammates cruised to the finish, securing their second consecutive victory. These were also the first minutes of playing time at this year's AVC Cup for the captain of the Vietnamese women's team.
Final result: Vietnam defeated Hong Kong 3-0 (25-9; 25-18; 25-11).
